Description
S960QL Plates & Sheets
S960QL Plates / Sheets is a structural steel with a minimum yield strength of 960 – 1150 MPa depending on thickness. Typical applications include demanding load-bearing structures.
It is widely used in manufacturing Mine truck floor, pumping machinery, excavators, truck cranes, crawler cranes, coal mine hydraulic supports, etc.
Due to the nature of the material it is used extensively in the heavy transport, lifting and mining industry, where huge payloads and risk of material deterioration through excessive abrasion is commonplace. Produced in accordance with EN10025:6:2004, S960QL has good bending and welding capabilities.
Dimensions :
Thickness – 4 mm to 35 mm
Width – 1500 to 3100
Some items may be in ready stock or make to order can also be provided on client’s order.

Delivery Conditions :
S960QL is delivered as quenched and tempered. Our plates are supplied as standard in the shotblasted andpainted condition. In order to maintain a good weldability and laser cutting performance, a low zinc silicate primer is applied. Plates can also be delivered unpainted.
Heat treatment of S960QL :
The mechanical properties of S960QL has been obtained by Quenching and Tempering. For not losing the guaranteed properties of S960QL, the plate should not be used in applications requiring hot working and service temperatures above 550° C.
Machining of S960QL :
S960QL provides a very good machinability and can be drilled, counter sinked and milled in the same way as any other 960MPa or S960QL Q&T steel.
Ultrasonic Testing :
Ultra sonic testing (UT), is applied to secure the plate from discontinuities like inclusions, cracks and porosity. In thickness from 8 mm and up, all plates are UT tested and controlled against class S2, E2, according to EN 10160.
