Description
Aluminium Alloy 6061 Plates / Sheets – AMS-QQ-A-250/11
AMS 4025, AMS 4026, AMS 4027
Aluminium Alloy 6061 as per AMS-QQ-A-250/11 refers to aluminum alloy specifically the plate and sheet form that meets the American military specification QQ-A-250/11. This is a Medium Strength, Heat-Treatable alloy known for its good formability, weldability, and corrosion resistance. It is often supplied in the T6 temper, which means it has been solution-treated and artificially aged for increased strength.
A medium strength aerospace aluminium alloy with, depending upon temper, Yield Strength of up to 35 ksi (240 MPa) and Tensile Strength of 42 ksi (290 MPa)
Aluminum Alloy 6061 is an extremely versatile heat treatable aluminum alloy due to its content of silicon and magnesium. Alloy 6061 has a wide range of mechanical and corrosion resistance properties as well as having most of the good qualities of aluminum. 6061 is used in a many applications from aircraft structures, yacht construction, truck bodies, bicycle frames to screw machine parts.
AMS QQA 250/11 6061 is a medium-strength sheet alloy with good formability and good weldability. The alloy has good resistance to atmospheric corrosive attack.
