AISI 1117 Round Bar is a Low-Carbon Manganese steel known for its excellent Machinability, Moderate Strength and Good Weldability. It is widely used for precision-machined components that require consistent mechanical properties and cost-effective production.
AISI 1117 is a resulfurized low-carbon steel containing increased manganese content to improve strength and hardenability compared to AISI 1018. It offers excellent machinability while maintaining good ductility and toughness. It is suitable for case hardening, allowing the surface to achieve high hardness while retaining a tough core.
AISI 1117 carbon steel contains more manganese than other lower-carbon steels in order to ensure good hardenability.
