Description
1.2316 Round Bars / 1.2316+QT Round Bars
1.2316 Round Bars is a Chrome Molybdenum steel with improved corrosion resistance properties, 1.2316 possesses good polishability, toughness, heat resistance and wear-resistant properties. It is often used for tools for processing chemically aggressive plastic materials (e.g. PVC).
Grade 1.2316 is a Plastic Mould Tool Steel, supplied from stock in Rounds Bars, Flats Bars and Plates.
1.2316 is a Martensitic Stainless Chromium steel with uniform hardness in all dimensions, it is easy to machine, high surface finish and polishability. 1.2316 is commonly used for plastic moulds, and offers a higher corrosion resistance than 1.2083. It can be used with for the manufacturing of chemically aggressive materials like PVC and plastics containing abrasive fillers.
We can deliver 1.2316 in the pre hardened condition i.e QT (300HB or 340HB) (30 to 34 HRC).
This grade is not suitable for nitriding and chrome plating because of the high chrome content.
1.2316 is a mold steel with improved corrosion resistance properties, thanks to the addition of chromium and molybdenum.
The high cleanliness/homogeneity of the steel makes it specially adapted to fine polishing (mirror finish).
DIN 1.2316 material is a Chrome Molybdenum Tool Steel known for its improved corrosion resistance properties. This steel variant boasts excellent polishability, toughness, heat resistance, and wear-resistant properties. It is widely favored for tools designed to process chemically aggressive plastic materials, such as PVC. The steel material 1.2316 is martensitic stainless chromium steel, offering uniform hardness across all dimensions. It’s easy to machine and provides a high surface finish and polishability. 1.2316 is often chosen over steel 1.2083 due to its superior corrosion resistance which makes it ideal for manufacturing chemically aggressive materials like PVC and plastics containing abrasive fillers.
