817M40 Round Bars / Flat Bars
817M40 Round Bars & Flat Bars are a High Tensile Alloy Steel that offers high strength, good wear resistance, and impact resistance, especially at low temperatures. This Nickel Molybdenum alloy is commonly used in components requiring High Stress, such as in the automotive and aircraft industries for parts like gear shafts, connecting rods, and landing gear. The steel can be further processed with induction hardening or nitriding to improve its wear resistance.
817M40 is a Chrome-Nickel-Moly steel used for a wide range of general purpose engineering parts. It is capable of being heat treated to produce good tensile strengths combined with good ductility, resistance to shock and wear resistance characteristics. The shafts 817M40 is stocked in an as rolled / forged condition. Heat treatment to other conditions are also possible depending on the size’s limited ruling section. 817M40 is generally stocked in round black bar.

Applications of 817M40 Round Bars :
817M40 steel is widely used as engineering steel in Automobile Industry, Construction, Pharmaceutical / Chemical Industry, Oil & Gas Industry.It is often utilized where other alloy steels do not have the hardenability to give the strength required. For highly stressed parts it is also an excellent choice.
