EN16 Round Bars / 605M36 Round Bars
EN16 Round Bars is a High Tensile through Hardening Steel which has Excellent Ductility and Good Shock Resistance. It is ideal for Manufacturing Pistons and High Tensile Nuts & Bolts, as well as high load couplings.
EN16 shares the same good mechanical properties of EN8 / EN8D but is more resistant to shear loading (stress created when two planes of the same object are trying to slide past one another) and frictional wearing. It is an alternative alloy steel grade to other chromium and nickel high tensile steel specifications and is readily machinable in the supplied condition.

EN16 is a Manganese Molybdenum steel that has excellent ductility and good machinability. It has a high tensile strength as well an ability to withstand shock loading. It finds many uses in engineering applications such as shafts, pins and bolts.
EN16 also known as 605M36 comes as Rolled (no heat treatment).
EN16 displays excellent ductility and shock resistance. As such itis a good choice for a range of general engineering uses.
