ER630 Welding Filler Wire / 17-4PH TIG & MIG Wire
ER630 Welding Filler Wire is a precipitation-hardening stainless steel welding consumable specifically developed for welding 17-4PH (Type 630) stainless steel and other similar precipitation-hardening stainless steels. Classified under AWS A5.9 ER630, this filler wire offers excellent mechanical strength, corrosion resistance, and toughness after appropriate post-weld heat treatment. It is widely used in Aerospace, Power Generation, Oil & Gas, Marine, Petrochemical, and Defense Industries where high-strength stainless steel welds are required.
ER630 (17-4ph) Welding Filler Wire is a precipitation hardening stainless steel used for welding of materials of similar chemical composition such as 17-4PH and 17-7PH. Mechanical properties of this alloy are greatly influenced by the heat treatment.
The composition is designed primarily for welding ASTM A564 Type 630 and some other Precipitation-Hardening Stainless Steels. The composition is modified to prevent the formation of ferrite networks in the martensitic microstructure which have deleterious effect on mechanical properties. Dependent on the application and weld size, the weld may be used as welded; welded and precipitation hardened; or welded, solution treated, and precipitation hardened.
ER630 (17-4 PH) is a martensitic precipitation, age-hardening 17% chromium -4% nickel stainless steel designed for welding ASTM A564 Type 630 and other martensitic PH stainless steels such as 15-5PH. Weld deposits have excellent mechanical properties with high strength and hardness. ER630 (17-4 PH) can be used with all welding processes without preheating, however post-weld heat treatment is recommended to produce weld properties comparable to the base metal. Commonly used in high temperature and abrasion resistant environments such as found in the petrochemical and aerospace industries.
